How much fun is it to ride around the Soi’s and streets of Chiang mai old city on this wonderful 2 wheel device. Could I master the balance needed to enjoy this sojourn? – yes I did and it was a wonderful experience.
After 3 hours I wanted more – more of this seqway vehicle. It was sick – fun…. My daughter and husband were visiting and we were checking out Chiang Mai and thought a great way to experience the old city would be through a Segway tour. Having booked in advance we arrived at the office to get started on our 3 hour Segway tour of the ancient city’s historical sites. A snack (best chocolate brownie ever) and drink were included during a stop on the route. Having gained the balance and the capability to operate the segway we soon were experiencing the largest city in Northern Thailand, and the former capital of the ancient kingdom of Lanna, (the Kingdom of a million rice fields) in a most unique way. It was fun to wave at passer’s-by and humor at the stares we were getting. Photo opportunities abound as you make stops at the various attractions!
The tour takes in the narrow soi’s and alleys that lead us to attraction locations that included such city landmarks as:
- Wat Phra Singh
- Wat Pan Tao
- Wat Chedi Luang
- Thapae Gate
- Wat Chiang Man
- Three Kings Monument
It was unique and a great way to experience the old city of Chiang Mai – I was surprised when our 3 hours were up and I could have driven around for hours more.
