This is is Ace here ( Ron’s partner) and I would like to tell who are reading his blog . Sadly Ron has passed away due to a acomplication of his treatment for Pemphigus . As his previous post, he had mentioned about his condition for Autoimmune disease to his skin. He had been on a high dose steroid pills for couple of months and his condition still not under controlled. Doctor suggested 2 doses of target drug called Rituximab to kill some of the white blood cells which release immunity to attack his skin.As a result of that the drug had weaken his immunity and all microorganism in his lungs to thrive. Severe pnuemoniae occured and he was admitted to local hospital in icu for almost 3 weeks. Ron passed away on 15th of April . He had a 3 day funeral ceremony under buddhist faith and cremated on 18th April . Most of his ash was released to Mekong river near us and I kept some in a urn and brought it home. The urn was kept in our house for almost 100 days. On July 18th , I did buddhist ritual for him and put his ash into a stupa in the buddhist temple near our home .

Ron was extrodinary husband , father , grandfather . He was survived by his spouse (me) , 3 childrens and 3 grandchildren.

I will keep website active and monitor comment and question , please feel free to comment or ask anthing . And also I will keep his email active too. In near future , we had plan to do something together but unfortunately I have to do it on my own. I will keep you posted when that happen. Farewell to my beloved husband ,partner, my montor and half of my soul, At least his forever resting place is a stone throw from our beloved home. Till death do us part.

  1. Dear Ace,

We have never met, but I knew Ron very well. We first met in 1995, and he has held a very special place in my heart ever since.

I was deeply saddened to read your message and learn of Ron’s passing. It is difficult to find the right words when someone who has been part of your life and memories for so many years is suddenly gone.

Thank you for sharing the circumstances of his passing and, particularly, for telling us about the beautiful way you honoured him according to your Buddhist traditions. Knowing that Ron’s final resting place is so close to the home you shared together seems especially fitting and peaceful.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences, Ace, and extend them to Ron’s children, grandchildren and family.

I will always remember Ron with enormous affection and be grateful that our paths crossed all those years ago.

Much love to you and your family,

    Michael
