A short updater on our “Road trip to Khon Kaen” with Miss Izzy, for a brief staycation & dermatology medical review.

We chose to stay again at Nadee10 Hotel. Nice & clean, good breakfast & central to lots of places we visit during our trips, such as hospital, Central Mall, Homepro, B&B, Index Mall, & Ton Tann market.

They have a nice clean, supplied breakfast option to start the day. We enjoy the relaxed breakfast before venturing out.

Big thank you & love to Ace for helping navigate the hospital systems & protocols, making the journey so much easier.

Turned out the checkup had an unforseen twist in the tail! Ended up with a 2 night stay plus an unanticipated “all day hospital (8 – 5)” admission.
Dermatologist was not happy, after 2 months, with current steroid treatment result progress. (Pemphigus not clearing up & new liasions appearing). So have shifted to next level treatment.

This is involving a very slow infusion of an “monoclonal antibody”, called “Rituxibad”, delivered on the chemotheropy ward. Protocol requires 2 very slow infusions, taken 2 weeks apart.

Lots of side-effects, & comes with many medical risks, so need to monitor carefully. Must be very aware I have no immunity while the drug works, so must avoid infections & sick people, no gardening with dirt, etc.

We did try to enjoy our hotel & nice dinners out (Chinese & Japanese) during the journey. Managed a little shopping at some big stores, not available in our country setting.

Back again 16 March for another road trip to undergo round 2 infusion.i am hopeful this new strategy has an improved & positive outcome? Time will tell.

Take care Ray ..thought of you as I passed through That phanom after a week in mukdahan. Just got home this morning and missing thailand already
