Consular Service Outreach Program & Passports- Chiang Mai

The Australian Embassy will not be conducting any further outreach visits to Chiang Mai in 2018.

The Embassy anticipates a reduction in the need to provide notarial services due to no longer witnessing income or bank balance statutory declarations. As such, outreach visits to Chiang Mai will be reduced in 2019 and the anticipated next visit is in June 2019. At least six weeks’ notice will be provided of our visit date, please monitor the website for updates.

From the 10th December 2018, Australian passport applications can be lodged with the Australian Consulate, Chiang Mai – by appointment only. Appointments are normally available on Wednesday mornings from 9 to 11:30 am.

It is important to note that you need to allow a minimum of four weeks for the passport to be processed and returned to you. Payment in at the Consulate in Chiang Mai will be by credit authorisation form ONLY. No cash or debit card payments accepted.

The Australian Embassy in Bangkok remains available for the lodgement of passport applications and notarial services. An appointment is required for these services. Please refer to the Appointment Booking page on the Embassy website for further information.
