The week of the 7-11th November I was fortunate to attend a Regional consular services and mental health first aid workshop in Bangkok.
Good training from the DFAT training team from Canberra with lots of new learning’s. Client services and long with how to identify and support those with mental health issues were the topics of the courses. It was really nice to be able to network with two Honorary Consuls from Malaysia (one has 29 years service) along with other Regional Consular Officer from such locations as Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore, India, Myanmar, Bangkok, China, Laos and a few more.
There was an Ambassadors reception in honour of Consular Services in Thailand at his residence which was also a pleasure to attend. There where many Thai organisations and agencies that work with the Embassy Consular team in attendance and it was a good opportunity to network with them and some of the other Embassy Consular managers. It was a very worthwhile week.
